Gerry & Dawn

Chinook Arch is a 36 ft Gulfstar sloop cruising the Eastern US, Bahamas Islands and Caribbean sea.  She is owned and crewed by Captain Gerry LaBrie and Admiral Dawn LaBrie.  She was purchased in Morehead City, NC in February 2003.  She sailed down the Intracoastal Waterway to Key Biscayne, FL, across the Gulfstream to the Bahamas, down to the Turks and Caicos islands, over to the Dominican Republic then east to Puerto Rico, the Spanish, American and British Virgin islands down the Leeward and Windward Islands and south to Trinidad which is now her home port.  Gerry and Dawn sail for 5 or 6 months of each year to various islands of the Caribbean and return to Trinidad Antigua where she is hauled and stored on the hard for the next hurricane season.  Click on the Chinook Arch header to return to the main blog web page (or click on your browser's "Back" button).

As Dawn and I normally only cruise for 4 or 5 months of each year, in the past we have not posted during the months when we are back home.  My hobby is to study macroeconomics and finance (I know ... sounds pretty nerdy).  I believe that it is important for everyoine to educate themselves on money and banking given the recent economic crisis.  This may very well turn out to be the most important historical event of our lives and impact us for many years to come.  As a result, I will occasionally post articles and other items of interest dealing with this subject matter on this site.  I will try to keep things simple so that anyone can understand ... you do not need an MBA or an accounting background in order to understand this stuff.
